When Compaq came to India in 1995, it
was an unfamiliar name with hardly any market presence. To make
matters more challenging, the entire marketing of its products was
being handled through channel partners. As the agency in charge
of conceptualizing and staging marketing events, our task was to
create awareness of its products among target customers and more
importantly, put Compaq on top of mind of all its channel partners.
The channel partners were big names like Unicorp, Microland, CMC,
Thukral and ICIM , and motivating them to give Compaq the pride
of place in their brand portfolio was easier said than done.
We helped Compaq build marketing muscle in India and launch a slew
of new products through a series of Product Launch Events, Customer
Meets, Road Shows and Reseller Conventions. Each event was carefully
planned with a big idea at the core and executed with meticulous
attention to detail.
In just two years Compaq was established as a major player in the
in the India IT products market and its roster of channel partners
had expanded to include many more big names.
