Digital
was the first IT major allowed entry into India after the exit of
IMB in 1977. The corporate campaign had to evoke the historic nature
of the occasion, outlining the leadership aspects of Digital in
the IT world. The four-part campaign titled "Touch" did
just that, creating remarkable brand awareness in a short time,
as tested in a post-campaign survey.
The four ads established, in sequence, the import
of an iconic company like Digital coming to India, its obsolescence-proof
technology, its pioneering efforts in the emerging networking
technologies, and lastly, its long-term commitment to the Indian
market.
We followed this up with stand-out tradeshow
pavilions, a path breaking corporate film titled " Digital
Makes The Difference" (which won a Ad Club Gold and was remade
by us with a new cast of senior management when Mr. Som Mittal
took over the reins from Mr. Mike Shah), an award-wining Annual
Report, and an array of product ads.
The upshot? Digital quickly grew to become
a preferred brand in the corporate world and a destination of
choice for IT professionals.
